If I Touched an Eagle
Published in Paperback by Royal Fireworks Press (June, 2003)
Author: Joan D. Stamm
Average review score:

This story took me back to a boyhood time.
Ms. Stamm took me back to a boyhood time in my life. When my family, the fields around our home and my school were all that encompassed my life. Her characters realize an awareness of the frugality of our environment as seen through their young eyes.

I truly enjoyed reading this short, but fun filled story.

A great book!
I really like this book. Robin is bored. Melissa Berger becomes her friend. They sleep over. But when Robin finds Melissa reading her diary, she gets mad at her. Then Jenny moves next door. They become best friends. They even tie a rope between their houses. A basket is on the rope, so they can send messages back and forth. But then, Jenny's parents get a divorce. Her dad is in love with another girl. Her mom wants to move to Texas. Neither one of them want Jenny. Jenny gets to live with her grandparents in Chicago. Melissa is Robin's friend again. Joshua Worthington Eagle: A Story of Worth, Transformation and Balance
Published in Paperback by Balancing Life (April, 2000)
Authors: Samara C. Kezele Fritchman, Kerry Weaver, and Val Dumond
Average review score:

An inspirational, entertaining, highly recommended novelle.
Joshua Worthington Eagle: A Story Of Worth, Transformation And Balance is an inspirational, 101-page allegorical novelle that lyrically reflects the human struggle to alter misguided thinking and to see things clearly. The eagle, Joshua, begins his life walking with the chicken when he was meant to soar. How Joshua discovers his true nature and transforms himself into what he truly is will prove both entertaining and inspiring to the reader. Also highly recommended is the Samara Fritchman other inspirational novelle, The Tale Of Three Minds: The Chronicles Of Will, Soul & Heart.

a winner for an active child
Jumping Jack the Grasshopper is an adorable book about a grasshopper named Jack who is looking for a friend. In the end, Jack leanrns that he doesn't have to be just like someone in order to be their friend...some friends wiggle, fly, and swim. My active 2 year old little boy will actually sit down to read this book as he hops the toy grasshopper "Jack" that comes with the book from page to page on his adventure, and he learns a valuable lesson.

Keepers of the Fire: Journey to the Tree of Life Based on Black Elk's Vision
Published in Paperback by Bear & Co (September, 1987)
Authors: Eagle Turtle, Walking, Eagle Walking Turtle, Black, and Eagle
Average review score:

Very touching, great for all ages.
This book was given to a friend of mine as a gift. I read it and soon began giving it to others too. It has a very heartwarming story of a group of Lakota people traveling all over to spread the spiritual wisdom of Black Elk's vision. It's fun because you can follow the travellers on a map at the beginning of the book as they go all over the world and celebrate with indigenous people who they find share the same basic ideals as them. I bought a copy for my nephew, and my father as well. Too bad it's out of print, but amazon found me two copies.
